It's not often that I watch or see an ad and have to drop everything to write about it. Today I caught Liberty Mutual's new campaign "Responsibility. What's your Policy?" done by Hill|Holliday. Funny thing is HH's comments in their blog about launching the campaign was exactly what I was thinking. It's not every day you can put a human face on something like insurance or to tap cleanly into a universal human quality/trait as your core brand value.
[Side Note: Ernie Schenck wrote the HHCC post but he's also someone I've been reading for a long time check out his blog: Erie Schenck Call's This Advertising?]
As for the ad itself it brilliant creative. Great photography and an amazing concept that flows really well throughout the spot. Hat's off.
I think the other thing that caught my attention was the use of HEM's song "Half an Acre". For those of you who know me you know that I'm a music freak and to hear a really unknown but great artist in the spot was neat and it worked so well at really pulling the heart strings. I'm really loving the fact that ads coming out now are really featuring eclectic artists and songs... look for a post in the near future about the trend of music in ads. Cheers!
